MICROBLADINGÂ |Â PMU
Microblading is a manual skill of semi-permanent eyebrow drawing. This new technique creates the illusion of fuller thicker brows by creating hair like strokes in the skin. Pigments are chosen to match the natural hair or eyebrow color. With proper after care the effect can last up to 18 months!
FAQ
Listed below are some of the most commonly asked questions pertaining to Microblading services. If you have further questions about the service, please do not hesitate to contact us about scheduling a complimentary consultation! These can be done by email, phone, or in person.
IS IT SAFE?
Completely! Treatment is performed by our Master Esthetician and Founder Wendy Quarles. Wendy is licensed by the state board of Cosmetology,  and certified in Microblading from two top companies called PHIBROW and EVERLASTING BROWS. Our facility is also licensed by the Ohio Health Board. The service is performed with sterile disposable tools, as to ensure no cross contaminate with other clients.
HOW IS IT DONE?
This is achieved by our skilled and certified stylist by utilizing a sterile microblade, which is used to epidermal or outer layer of the skin to a depth of between 0.05 - 0.09. This then allow pigment to enter the skin, and mimic the look of a natural brow hair.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE AND LAST?
The initial service take between 2 - 2.5 Hours. After the inital service, clients are encourage to return at 6 week for a retouch. This is because, depending on the clients skin type and after care some area may fade 10 - 20%. A touch up appointment will take between 1 - 1.5 hours. After the recommend retouch appointment, the microblading pigment will fade over the course of 18 months.
IS IT PAINFUL?
The pain level for the service is considered mild to none.  Prior to the service, we will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied a second numbing gel during the service. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the service has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.Â
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Â Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Â Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
HOW WILL IT HEAL?
The healing phase is about a 4 week process. The first week, brows will get slightly darker. This does not mean this will be your permanent color. The second week the microblading area will begin to form a scab where the strokes where done; because your skin was open it has to heal like a cut would. The third week, those scabs will then start to shed or flake off the brows. When this happens it will appear the pigment has completely faded or did not hold. This is not not true. The pigment inserted into your skin cell must go through a whole cell turn over before it reappears on the surface. By the end of week four the pigment should have fully returned and the clients brow will be completely healed with a soft, full natural brow look!
